MNRI®: Trunk Extension Reflex

Streaming Media › 365 day online viewing access

The Trunk Extension Reflex activates the cerebral-spinal fluid pumping mechanism, influencing the development of the nervous system. This reflex is the basis of the dynamics of postural control development. It assists in the coordination of movement influencing perceptual skills, attention span, and cognitive processing. This reflex also provides an infant with basic movements to get ready to stand and walk. The Trunk Extension Reflex helps with the development of the Front-Back MCS. The function of this MCS is to activate the links between the brain stem and the frontal part of the brain and to create the reorganization of the midline between the front and the back. Video Runtime: 10 minutes, 38 seconds.
