Applications in Neurodevelopment: Child Motor Development and Milestones (6-8 months)

Streaming Media › 28 day online viewing access

Between the ages of 6-8 months, an infant's neurodevelopment is undergoing a major transition in the formation of integrity between sensory-motor activity, emotional-behavioral spheres affecting their brain development, and self-awareness. This lecture aims to provide an overview of the early motor development to demonstrate the links with archetype movements, their biomechanical aspects, and reflex patterns, leading the natural development of infant’s age-appropriate motor milestones, learned abilities, and skills. Changes in emotional/behavioral responses, sensory-motor milestones, cognitive functions, language, and communication are those developmental tasks that create the neurophysiological foundation for further successful development.
