Course Overview
The MNRI® Dysfunctional and Pathological Reflex Re-Patterning and Integration course expands a practitioner's understanding of the nervous system, focusing on how to repattern underdeveloped reflexes to optimize learning and growth.
This knowledge helps practitioners analyze a client’s reflex profile and apply appropriate exercises to integrate or reintegrate dysfunctional or pathological reflexes. Select MNRI reflex pattern exercises for the upper limbs, lower limbs, and body core will be explored, building on the concepts acquired in Dynamic & Postural Reflex Integration by focusing on deviated patterns and their developmental implications. Students are introduced to basic concepts of reflex screening as part of a client’s individualized intervention approach.
This is an intermediate course that assumes students are proficient in all basic Dynamic & Postural reflex techniques and understand the role of reflexes in regulating the nervous system and supporting higher-level cortical functions.
- Analyze the role of underdeveloped or immature reflexes in neurodevelopment and functional performance.
- Differentiate between the reflexes of the three motor-structural planes of the body, and how their maturation corresponds to specific areas of the brain.
- Analyze the biomechanics of reflex patterns and how they affect joint alignment, muscle tone, movement programming, and motor control.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to differentiate between reflexes in norm and reflexes deviated from a typical developmental profile.
- Analyze the disconnect between a reflex circuit’s receptive field and motor response.
- Analyze various reflex patterns of the upper limbs, lower limbs, and body core, including their maturation timeline and developmental effects on movement, abilities, and skills.
- Apply techniques to repattern dysfunctional or pathological reflexes, freeing the brain from protective responses and facilitating nervous system regulation, learning, and growth.
- Apply strategies of basic reflex checks and MNRI Dysfunctional & Pathological Reflex Integration program content into daily client home practice to impact occupational performance.

Criteria for Certificate of Completion and any available Credit Hours or CEUs:
